Bak Industries Revolver X4 Hard Roll-Up Tonneau Cover

I was looking for a hard roll-up cover for my Ram (with rambox), after having the bakflip G2 folding cover on my 2015 truck. That one leaked because the hose attachments to the channels broke off continuously, so the bed was always wet. I'd heard the rolling covers were better, so I thought I'd give this one a try. I couldn't find a cover anywhere for the 2019 new body style Rams, but finally saw one on MyTruckPoint. Ordering was easy online, and Mike followed up to confirm. In doing so, he said that they had shipped the wrong cover, for the classic body style instead. He told me to refuse the shipment and they would send the proper cover right away. I thought that was great service - being proactive about a mix-up and correcting it right away. Thanks Mike, that was awesome, and the right cover showed up the next day. Installation of the cover was, in a word, difficult. With the rambox covers, the side rails for the tonneau slide onto the factory rails in the truck bed, and Bak claims that that the fit is "tight". It isn't tight, it won't actually fit without a fair amount of effort. I tried their recommendation of soap and water, and that got me exactly nowhere, the rails wouldn't even go on a quarter of the way. I tried grinding down the factory rails on the truck and that helped a bit, but what finally worked was filing out the grooves in the tonneau cover rails with a circular file. The problem is that there is some paint overspray into the channels, and unless you get rid of that, there's no way it will fit. In non-rambox covers, I think the rails are clamped on so this is a problem specific to the rambox. Now that the cover has been installed for a couple of months, the performance has been excellent. We've had lots of heavy snow in Feb/March, followed by tons of spring rain here in Ontario, and the cover has handled all of it extremely well. Even going through the occasional automated wash hasn't left the bed soaked like what happened with the G2 on my previous truck. There's a tiny bit of water in the bed after a wash, but nothing I'm worried about. I added some of the leftover weatherproofing from the front of cover to the tailgate area, and I think that's helped keep things pretty dry. Overall, my experience with MyTruckPoint was fantastic, the cover looks and works very well, so the only issue is the installation. A bit better quality control from Bak, and everything would be perfect.
